Born in San Francisco, Efrem Bergman began his piano studies at the age of four and made his recital debut at the age of six. At nine he performed at the Junior Bach Festival in Berkeley, and at eleven was presented on his own television program for KCET-TV in San Francisco. He continued to be featured in various recitals and solo performances around the Bay Area.
While studying at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, Efrem competed and placed as one of the finalists in the Gina Bachauer International Piano Competition. After receiving his Bachelors Degree at San Francisco State University, he moved to Los Angeles in 1982 to pursue a career in music.
Efrem performed in many recitals around the greater Los Angeles area and in 1984, he was selected as one of the pianists to participate in the Olympic games opening ceremonies performing Gershwins Rhapsody in Blue. After completing two-year programs at UCLA for each of the film scoring and sound engineering courses, Efrem broadened his career by now composing music for both film and television. Over the past twenty-five years he has developed extensive relationships in the entertainment industry and has built quite a wide range of composing credits.
Efrem has now devoted his career for both composition and teaching. He resides in Woodland Hills, California with his family; Pam his wife and Rebecca his daughter.
